RATING – A REALLY HANDY ADDITION FOR YOUR RIDE – 9/10!

Intro

The TWTOPSE S bag is the budget-friendly, and unofficial, version of the Brompton S bag. It is my first front carrier bag on any bike I’ve ever owned. I couldn’t resist purchasing one; they ooze style and class and are ridiculously convenient. Splashing out 80sgd on the bag was a bit of a gamble; however, buyers ratings of the bag seemed primarily positive. I took the plunge!

Review

I’m so glad I did. This bag has it all. It fits more than you would expect: I fit my laptop, a change of clothes, a towel, drinks bottle, wallet, keys, phone and still have the side/back pockets empty for additional items. This thing is like a Tardis!

The bag remains a permanent fixture on my bike, even when it’s empty – you never know when you might need to chuck some stuff in! The convenience of dumping stuff in the bag when out and about is impressive. I expected that, due to the size and position of the bag that it would interfere with my riding experience and hinder me in some way. It doesn’t. Give it 5 mins on your bike, and you will feel completely comfortable riding with it – even if it’s full and weighted.

When I reach work, I simply un-click the bag from the carrier block and carry the bag on my shoulder up to my office. There’s no faffing around with clips or Velcro straps to undo. It’s so simple and easy.
Riding in Singapore with a backpack gets a little…sweaty and tiring. Because of the position of the bag and how it is weighted, the front stem and wheel take all the weight, having a minor impact on handling. The steering can feel a little heavier, and cornering may feel different at first, but I was super impressed with how little an influence having the bag attached to the bike has on ride quality.

People take pride in their belongings. They clean their bikes. They purchase upgrades for things to look, sound and perform better. My main squirm with this bag is an easily fixable one. Front top centre of the bag, there lies this defect.
After reaching out to TWTOPSE for comment, asking whether I could purchase a new front cover from them, they declined and mentioned that all the bags have this defect. Okay. I might add a black sharpie to try and get rid of the glue and see if it is less noticeable.

Would I buy?

Is the quality worth the price? Yes. Apart from the minor blemish, which really should be improved, the bag is a huge hit!
