RATING – A CHEAP & UNIQUE ADDITION TO YOUR RIDE – 10/10!
Intro
The branding on my black lacquer Brompton is very sleek and understated. A black decal on a dark frame means that it’s not really visible. With so many copycat bikes out there – here’s looking at you 3SIXTY & PIKES & LITEPRO & TRIFOLD – it appears as though everybody is riding the same bike!
Review
Adding a brass-looking badge to my bike was a personal touch that I felt would enhance its uniqueness. The decision of where to place it was a journey in itself. I experimented with a few different positions, each one adding a unique character to the bike. After much deliberation, I decided that it should take pride of place on the upper stem, just below my handlebars – a position that I felt would make it stand out for everyone to see. This is a cheap addition to customising your bike and gives it an extra sense of uniqueness.
Extra tip: the metal badge has a 3m adhesive backing. Depending on where you place it, I would advise affixing multiple cable ties around the area to help shape the metal and ensure the entire surface area is sticking. After a few hours, when the adhesive has set, carefully remove the cable ties. Voila!
